Shutdown originates from a fundamental psychological condition of modern life: existing in a world that is always on, always illuminated, and constantly demanding response. Each day is fragmented by notifications, meetings, messages, news, and the invisible pressures of society. People do not collapse all at once; they slowly deplete in silence. The boundaries between working and existing, between connection and intrusion, between presence and exhaustion, are no longer clearly defined.
